Free AI Mock Interview Platforms for Freshers in India, Compared Honestly

By Pooja Goenka · Published 2026-10-02 · Updated 2026-10-21

The free AI mock interview tools that give you the most practice today are Huru and AceInterview (unlimited, per their own pages), Cloudvyn (5 a month), Sansal (3 a month) and LogicWiz Interviews (1 typed and 1 spoken interview a week on the free plan, with a spot-the-mistake mode for technical rounds). For freshers in India, AceInterview, Sansal, Cloudvyn and HireStepX are built around campus and IT-services interviews, and every limit below was checked on 14 October 2026 against each tool's own page.

You finish a mock interview, get a score of 7 out of 10 and a paragraph of feedback that could apply to anyone. Something was weak, but you can't tell which answer. Then you do the next one and get another 7.

The tools sold as free AI mock interviews vary a lot. Some are built for behavioural rounds, some for coding, some are really a paid app with a free trial, and a few are a person on the other end of a calendar. I run LogicWiz, which has its own free mock interview tool, so I have a stake in this. Everything below comes from each product's own page, read in early October 2026. Where a page was silent, I say so. Plans change, so check the page before you commit. I added the platforms built for freshers in India on 8 October 2026, and checked every tool again on 14 October 2026.

What should you look for in a free AI mock interview?

First, what "free" means. Free forever, free credits each month, a free first session, and free to sign up but paid to practise are four different deals.

Then check which round it practises. Behavioural answers and coding rounds need different tools, and one that is excellent at "tell me about a time" may have nothing for system design.

Voice or text matters too. Speaking an answer out loud is closer to the real thing, while typing is faster to review.

Look at who gives the feedback: an AI, a peer, or an experienced engineer. Each gets things wrong in its own way. Last, check what you get at the end, whether a score, a transcript or a list of what to fix.

Huru: free and focused on behavioural answers

Huru's page says the free plan includes unlimited mock interviews, the full AI feedback report, a library of more than 50,000 questions, custom interviews and a Chrome extension. You answer out loud on camera, and each answer is scored on relevance, structure, specificity, impact and articulation. Its emphasis is the STAR method for behavioural questions, and the free plan also lists support for several languages. The page says it also supports preparation for technical roles such as software engineering, but behavioural is where it puts its weight.

Who it suits: anyone who freezes on "tell me about yourself" and needs volume. If your worry is a system design round, this is not where I would start.

interviewing.io: real engineers, plus a free AI interviewer

interviewing.io covers algorithms, system design, machine learning, front-end, engineering management and behavioural practice. You can practise with experienced engineers from large companies, anonymously, over audio and chat with no video. It also offers an AI interviewer for people who are not ready for a human, and the page says you can work through more than 200 problems from Beyond Cracking the Coding Interview for free with it.

The page I read did not state what the human mock interviews cost, so look at the pricing before you plan around them. The human sessions are the closest thing to a real technical interview, but what you get for free is the AI interviewer and the problem set.

Who it suits: someone preparing for software engineering interviews at companies with a hard technical bar, who wants the realism of a real engineer's feedback.

Aced, formerly Exponent: peer practice with AI feedback

Aced runs peer-to-peer mock interviews, with AI feedback alongside. Its practice page says free users get credits each month and that members get unlimited access, with transcripts and feedback limited to paid members. It lists product management, data structures and algorithms, system design, behavioural and finance, with SQL, data science and ML, and front-end marked as beta. Sessions are roughly thirty minutes each way, so about an hour in total, and you need an account. The page says Pramp is now Aced, so this is where Pramp's peer practice went.

Who it suits: people who learn well from interviewing another person, and who can fit an hour-long scheduled session into their week.

Final Round AI: a wide scenario list, but practice is paid

Final Round AI's practice page lists eight scenarios: general, coding, system design, behavioural, product case, data and ML, salary negotiation and recruiter screen. It is voice-based and runs in a desktop app for macOS or Windows. When I first wrote this, its pages disagreed on cost. On 14 October 2026 the pricing page settles it: the free plan covers setting up goals and preparing materials, and practice interviews sit in Pro at $25 a month. The practice page also says a session needs a plan that includes session access. It is on this list because it shows up in "free mock interview" searches, but it is not a free practice tool.

Who it suits: someone who wants a wide range of scenarios in one app and is happy to pay for it.

LogicWiz Interviews: free, with a spot-the-mistake mode

LogicWiz Interviews has an AI interviewer called Aria. She asks questions for the track you pick, takes your answer by voice or text, asks follow-ups, and ends the session with a scored report. There is a large library of curated questions across every track, including backend, system design, machine learning, DevOps, SQL, security and behavioural. Practice is private and is not shared with any employer. Aria is an AI and says so.

I care most about the second mode. In spot-the-mistake, the AI writes a confident, well-structured answer that contains one planted technical error, and you have to find it. If you flag something that was actually correct, that counts as a miss. I wrote about why that kind of practice builds a different skill: at work you rarely write the first draft of an answer, you review one, and review is where confident wrong answers get through. There is also a quick game version, Spot Aria's Mistake, which takes about five minutes and is free.

The free plan, Spark, gives you 1 typed and 1 spoken interview with Aria a week and needs a free account, with no card. The paid plans, Ace (₹149 a month) and Wizard (₹999 a month), raise the limits; see LogicWiz pricing. If an interviewer asks how you use AI tools yourself, how to answer "Do you use AI at work?" has sample answers and more ways to practise spotting AI mistakes.

Which free AI mock interviews are built for freshers in India?

Several newer tools aim at Indian campus and IT-services interviews. Here is what each one's own page says, first read on 8 October 2026 and checked again on 14 October 2026.

AceInterview says it offers unlimited AI mock interviews at no cost, with no credit card, plus a resume analyzer. It covers behavioural, technical, situational and case-based questions, takes voice or text, and scores answers on the STAR method. It names Indian companies such as Razorpay, Meesho, CRED and Zepto. The page does not state a session cap.

Sansal has a free plan with 3 AI mock interviews a month, and unlimited interviews on Pro, listed at Rs 49 a month or Rs 499 a year. You choose the role, level and difficulty, answer by voice or text, and get a PDF report on technical knowledge, problem solving, communication, role fit and confidence. It offers company-wise preparation for names such as TCS, Infosys and Wipro, and interviews in English or Hindi. Its privacy policy, dated 23 September 2026, says speech is converted by Sarvam AI and answers are processed by Google Gemini, which is the kind of detail worth reading on any of these tools.

Cloudvyn has a free plan with 5 AI mock interviews a month, basic performance scoring and a PDF transcript, in English. Its paid plans add more interviews and Hindi.

HireStepX lists 2 free sessions with no card. They are spoken, with a scored report. The scenarios available now are behavioural, campus placement, salary negotiation and HR round. The page says its speech recognition is tuned for Indian English accents and names companies such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Razorpay and Flipkart. After the free sessions it charges per session.

MockMind offers 2 free interviews with no card, at internship, fresher or experienced level across more than 37 roles, by voice only, with scores, model answers and improvement tips.

GoodSpace gives a free 90-second preview that does not produce a report. Full sessions are paid. The page names TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Cognizant among the interview patterns it prepares you for, with a campus placement focus. If your next round is a TCS test rather than an interview, the TCS NQT pattern explained covers that stage.

Two non-India tools are also worth a look for technical practice. Placed.dev says the free plan includes 5 mock interviews a month across five tracks: coding, system design, behavioural, AI-assisted coding and AI fluency. InterviewLab by Codersera says its sessions are free and unlimited with a Google sign-in, and scores technical depth, system design, communication and role fit out of 10.

Checked on 14 October 2026. I did not verify every tool that appears in search results, such as SmallTalk2Me, so it is not rated here. Google's Interview Warmup, which still shows up on older lists, now redirects to a general Google careers article, so I have left it out. Free limits change often, so treat the free column as a snapshot.

How should you use AI mock interviews?

I would use one tool to get comfortable and another to get tested. Volume on a free behavioural tool builds the habit of structuring an answer. A human session, or a mode that checks your technical accuracy, tells you whether the content was right, and if you skip that second kind you can end up fluent in answers that are wrong.

Review your own sessions as well. The score only tells you where to look. What you take away is the one answer you would now give differently. For short versions of these answers, see our quick answers page.

Common questions

What is the best free AI mock interview tool?

It depends on the round. For behavioural practice with unlimited sessions, Huru's free plan is the broadest I found. For technical interviews with real engineers, interviewing.io. For free technical practice that checks whether you can catch an error, LogicWiz's spot-the-mistake mode.

Which free AI mock interview is best for freshers in India?

It depends on what you are preparing for. AceInterview, Sansal, Cloudvyn, HireStepX and GoodSpace state India-specific features such as company-wise preparation, Indian English or Hindi. Sansal and HireStepX list campus placement preparation. LogicWiz Interviews covers every major engineering track and has a spot-the-mistake mode for technical judgement, with 1 typed and 1 spoken free interview a week. Try two of them and keep the one whose feedback you act on.

Are AI mock interviews really free?

Some are. Huru lists unlimited free mock interviews, AceInterview says unlimited, interviewing.io has a free AI interviewer and problem set, Cloudvyn gives 5 a month, Sansal gives 3 a month, Aced gives monthly credits, and LogicWiz gives 1 typed and 1 spoken interview a week on its free Spark plan. Final Round AI's pricing page puts practice interviews on its paid Pro plan.

Can AI mock interviews prepare me for coding and system design rounds?

Partly. AI tools are good for repetition and for catching gaps in your explanation. For realistic pressure, a human interviewer, as on interviewing.io, is closer to the real thing.

Do I need to speak my answers out loud?

It helps, because interviews are spoken. Huru and Final Round AI are voice-based. LogicWiz's Aria accepts voice or text, so you can start by typing and move to speaking.

Do I need an account?

Most of them ask for one, though some pages did not say outright. LogicWiz needs a free account and no card.

Is Google Interview Warmup still available?

Not as a separate tool. On 14 October 2026 its old addresses redirect to a general Google careers article about interview tips, which suggests practising with Gemini Live instead.
